You know what else is helping me survive finals week? Greek yogurt. Popcorn. 5 Hour Energys. And this playlist. My focus playlist. Instrumental music, with just enough bass and excitement to keep me awake. Explosions in the Sky, God Is An Astronaut, and This Will Destroy You are amazing bands. Oh it's been nice being home. As much as I'm loving college, my roommates, and even Provo, it is nice to be home and have my mom cook for me again. And a dishwasher.
But anyway. I've been semi productive with my time at home. What have I done? Found a bunch of new songs of course.
So just go on over the side bar and pause that great playlist I've already got going, and listen to this great new stuff I've found.
Here's one song that I've listened to like 200 times already. I'm so excited for this movie, and I feel like this song will fit it perfectly!

Ok, next song. I love Snow Patrol, I really do. This song is from their new cd, which comes out next year. It's sad, yet amazing. Plus, I love New York.
Here is another one. This one might be more well known, simply because Maroon 5 is well known. But I've never heard this on the radio, so I'll share it anyways.
If you're as big of a Maroon 5 fan as I am, look up the song Just A Feeling as well. It's also an amazing song from the album Hands All Over.

You might have heard God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton. However, Dave Barnes' version is amazing, if not better than Blake's. Which is saying something, especially since I love Blake.
I love the song Lets Dance to Joy Division, by The Wombats. It's a good one. So great, it just makes you happy.
Satellite, by Guster is another good song. It's really chill, and just great to listen to. So listen to it.
I love Jon McLaughlin. I really do. So of course, I love this song, What I Want. You should too.
I love this man. His music is amazing. I'm sad I missed him here in concert a couple weeks ago. He's coming again in January, and has a concert in Salt Lake and St. George. Unfortunately, the one in SLC is 21+, and the one in St. Geezy is the day before the Brad Paisley/Scotty McCreery/Band Perry concert (which I already have tickets to :) ). So that probably won't work out.

Seriously. Does this song not just make you feel good? Even if you're not a lady. It's an amazing song. And the fact that he's singing it live, acoustically, and he still sounds that good is the best. No auto-tune for this guy.

Mmmm fall rain storms. I absolutely love days like today. Aren't too cold, but a little chilly. The rain makes everything smell delicious, and the smell of fall is in the air as well. I just love it.
Well I just thought I'd write a quick note, and share a song I've really been enjoying lately. It kinda fits a day like today too. It's called 'Keep Your Eyes Open' by Needtobreathe. I love Needtobreathe, they're one of my favorites. They opened for Taylor Swift on this last tour, and one of their songs was on P.S. I Love You. Look up More Time, Something Beautiful, and Looks Like Love if you want more great songs by them. So pause the music on the right, and click play on the video below, because this song is amazing.
I love this song, Keep Your Eyes Open, because I feel like it describes this point in my life. Graduating from high school, going to college, moving on with my life. What I do now is all up to me. The chorus of the song, if you haven't listened to it yet, says 'Cause if you never leave home, never let go, You'll never make it to the great unknown till you Keep your eyes open, my love. So tell me you're strong, tell me you see, I need to hear it can you promise me to Keep your eyes open, my love.' I guess I'm just feeling like now that I'm on my own, who I hang out with and what I do with my life is up to me. I can continue to stay in my comfort zone, hold on to what has happened in the past. I can stay in high school, caught up with drama, stereotypes, and pointless gossip, or I can move on. Meet new people, try new things, stop judging, live life a little more than I have been doing. Now is the time to prioritize, decide what I'm doing and what matters to me. All I gotta do is Keep my eyes open and see what life brings me.
